Pantothenic acid is an essential nutrient for the growth of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum. Under controlled conditions, after a defined incubation period, bacterial growth exhibits a linear relationship with pantothenic acid concentration. The resulting turbidity in the culture medium—caused by bacterial proliferation—is measured using a microplate reader to determine transmittance (or absorbance). Pantothenic acid content in the sample is then calculated based on the fitted curve equation correlating pantothenic acid concentration with transmittance or absorbance values.
